I know I will not be the smartest man in the room. I also know that there are people who know far more about a specific subject than I ever will. The key to being successful is surround yourself with successful people. I can promise you one thing. The cabinet will be chosen based on merit, not on who the Koch Brothers or Walmart want me to appoint. It will be the best of the best America has to offer, not my childhood friends and definitely not large donors, since I am not taking contributions. I will actually consult each department to get their suggestions/concerns/questions.
My potential cabinet?
Vice President - David Looper of Smyrna, Tennessee. An amazing man.
Department of State - I will look for someone like the late Richard Holbrooke, Richard Holbrooke's decline and fall, as told in Clinton emails
A person who has a great understanding of the world's issues and the ability to work well with others and willingness to openly share their views with me and the courage/conviction to tell me when I am wrong. Wesley Clark?
Department of the Treasury - I will be choosing this person with the help of other smart people, not Bank of America or Goldman Sachs. (President Trump, how is that Draining the Swamp coming along?) We will work to make sure our monetary decisions are sound and keep our citizens and economy in as great a shape as possible. Tim Adams?
Department of Defense - I will look for some who shares some of my views, such that before we buy a lot more new things for the military, lets pay the people in uniform a little more, do a lot more to take care of them, and fix our infrastructure instead. We have a pretty good track record of making things fairly quickly for warfare if we need to. We will definitely clean up the corruption and waste! Michèle Flournoy?
Department of Justice - I want someone who will look into prison reform, civil rights, Title IX and other enforcement. We will be diligent on such topics as crime on college campuses, interaction between the public and the police sworn to serve them, and voter rights. Kamala Harris?
Department of the Interior - Someone who shares my love for our nation's wonderful natural beauty. We will use my budget changes to ensure this department gets more of the funding it deserves. Maureen Finnerty?
Department of Agriculture - I will be choosing this person, not the Koch Brothers, Monsanto or Tyson Foods. We will investigate such issues as the pros and cons of ethanol and better utilization of that precious resource, water. We will not be as quick to lessen regulation as the current administration has been, Monsanto Is About To Escape All Regulation From The USDA We will definitely be more fair to the chicken farmers! (You will not believe this story!) Dr. John Fulton?
Department of Labor - We will work on making sure workers' rights are being properly protected and labor laws are being enforced. Investigate policies like payment to disable employees at Goodwill. Theodore M Solso
Department of Health and Human Services - We will look into such issues as CDC's Labs, the potential to fund Substance Abuse through Federal Tax on legalized marijuana to better Mental Health Care. Dr. Raymond J. Gibbons?
Department of Housing and Urban Development - I actually know someone well-versed on Federal Housing and Urban Development. Whoever I choose, we will work together on homelessness (with Health and Human Services Mental Health involvement) and rejuvenation (not gentrification) of urban areas. Nikki Silvestri?
Department of Transportation - One of my main priorities, repair and improve our infrastructure and transportation. I will find someone who shares my vision of how we need to make our roads and bridges safer, and improve our ability to get people and goods from one place to another. Robert Molloy?
Department of Energy - I will choose someone with knowledge in this area, but not driven by what Exxon or the Koch Brothers want. We will look into the safety of fracking and its impact on the environment. We will not make the same mistakes of investing vast sums on money in failed attempts at implementing solar and other energy sources, Fail: US Has Wasted $154 Billion on 'Renewable Energy' Amory B. Lovins?
Department of Education - No one here, I abolish this department.
Department of Veterans Affairs - One of the first persons I am looking for! This department is a national disgrace and needs to be fixed ASAP!
Scott Brown? He wants it, lets see how he does - I will be involved with this.
Department of Homeland Security - I know the importance of keeping people safe and protecting our nation from people wishing us harm, foreign or domestic. But I do not agree on some of the methods we have enacted to attempt to do this. My director of Homeland Security will work with me on how to repeal parts of the Patriot Act that violates our Bill of Rights, The Patriot Act: What Is the Proper Balance Between National Security and Individual Rights? Bill of Rights? BILL OF RIGHTS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (1791) Michael McCaul?
Do you make phone calls, text, email or use social media?
White House Chief of Staff - I have several mentors who have shaped my life and I look forward to working with one of them in this capacity.
Environmental Protection Agency - You better believe this person will have the same love for the environment I have. One of our first actions will be looking to close the "Halliburton Loophole" and reverse the recent trend of weakening the EPA and its powers and instead make it stronger and more powerful. No Brainer! Neil deGrasse Tyson
